Who We Are
Mossback Farms Beginnings
There was once a city girl who married a Farm Boy from East Central Saskatchewan and moved
out to his family’s homestead to raise their family. This City Girl had completed her Chemical
Technology program and thirsted for the chemical and biological knowledge that came from
the land she was now living on. While raising her children in this new environment she taught
them what she could of the natural and sustainable that she was raised to follow. The children
one day surprised her with the concept of microgreens as a source of nutrition to help keep
people from getting cancer and other nasty illnesses and diseases. From there Mossback Farms
got its name from the old trees that were on the land when the farm yard was created and
from the natural vision that the City Girl wanted to fuse into the nutrition and Health the
business was going to focus on. Now the City Girl works with her eldest son to grow herbs and
Microgreens year-round for the taste and the nutrition and she is teaching her youngest of the
botanicals that are foraged for on the land as well. Mossback Farms has also taken up
preserving food as the City Girl believes that wasted food and herbs are not sustainable.
Our Values
We Strive to provide Fresh and tasty local product that helps us connect to our land and our
bodies with regard to our health and wellbeing. We have Microgreens, Herbs and botanicals
year-round as we grow fresh indoors and preserve as much as we can. We don’t use chemicals
and so much selection so of-course we want to share it with our community. Offering the
Quality and knowledge we have is our purpose and pleasure for mind, body and soul hardiness.
